CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Joe List had two doubles and drove in two runs to lead Black to an 11-6 win over Red, giving them the Red vs. Black World Series title, three games to one. The World Series marks the end of fall practice for the Cincinnati baseball team.
Red scored three times in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead, but Black scored nine runs over the last four innings to win easily. Justin Minges picked up his second win of the series with two and a third scoreless innings of relief. Jon Shouse suffered the loss, allowing five runs, two earned, over two innings. Jameson Parker also drove in two runs for Black, while Aaron Moll homered and drove in two for Red.
Moll ended up hitting .313 for the series with three extra-base hits and four RBI. Jake Smith batted .385 for Black with two home runs and Andrew Skattum and List both batted .357.
The UC baseball team opens the 2002 season on Feb. 8 at Furman University in Greenville, S.C.
