Cincinnati women's basketball coach Laurie Pirtle and men's cage standout Steve Logan will be among the area sports celebrities to be honored at the seventh annual March of Champions banquet on Monday, Aug. 12.

Pirtle, who is heading into her 17th season at UC, directed the Bearcats to a school record-tying 27-5 season, winning the Conference USA tournament and earning a No. 6 seed in the NCAA tourney. She was named Ohio College Coach of the Year by the Columbus Dispatch.

Logan concluded his UC career as the second-leading scorer in the school's history with 1,985 points. He was a consensus All-America selection and a finalist for every national player of the year award, earning the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award as the top player 6-feet or under. He was the first pick in the second round of the NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors.

The dinner, to be held at the Sharonville Convention Center, benefits the March of Dimes. The event begins at 6:30 with cocktails and a silent auction. Tickets are $75 or tables of eight for $720.
