Tasha Wagner scored the only goal of Cincinnati's spring victory over Dayton. |
CINCINNATI, Ohio---Tasha Wagner?s early second half goal provided the winning margin as the Cincinnati women?s soccer team topped Dayton, 1-0, in a spring match up Sunday evening at Meyers Field.
Wagner stole the ball from a Dayton defender deep in the Flyer zone, setting up a one on one with the UD keeper and finishing it for the only marker of the contest.
?The result from today was great,? said Bearcat head coach Meridy Glenn. ?It?s a big rivalry anytime we play Dayton. It seemed like Dayton was ready for that and we weren?t as much. I think the strength of this team is the pressure they put on and the fact they don?t quit. Whether it?s a freshman or a senior they do the same thing. We have a style, but each player will put their own perspective, their stamp on what we try to do.?
The Bearcats return to spring action on Wednesday, traveling to Oxford for a 6:30 p.m. contest with Miami.
