CINCINNATI, Ohio---The Cincinnati rowing team got the first win of the spring from its varsity eight boat during a dual regatta against Kansas on Saturday at Harsha Lake in the East Fork State Park.
The Bearcats? boat consisting of Rachel Moat, Laura Schnieder, Linsey Berberich, Emilie Graham, Susan Johnsen, Jodi Baumgarth, Karen Kolodzaike, Stacy Tanner and Sarah Toebbe posted a time of 7:45.00, topping the Jayhawks by over six seconds.
?It was a good day for us because we won the premier race,? said Bearcat head coach Tim Royalty. ?I am really happy that the varsity eight came back to win their race and hopefully they will build on that for the rest of the season. The rest of the boats kind of struggled but it was so windy and the water conditions were really rough.?
The Bearcats return to action next Saturday, hosting Eastern Michigan.
