Rowing Completes Day One Of NCAA Regionals

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.---Despite struggling for much of the day, Cincinnati?s first varsity eight boat rebounded to win the C/D semifinal on Saturday at the NCAA Regionals in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
The team of Rachel Moat, Laura Schnieder, Linsey Berberich, Emilie Graham, Susan Johnsen, Jodi Baumgarth, Karen Kolodzaike, Stacy Tanner and Sarah Toebee won the event in 6:47.9, after finishing fifth in their heat. The team will compete in the C-Final of the event on Sunday at 10:50 a.m.
The Bearcats? second eight also earned a spot in the C-Final on Sunday after a sixth place finish of 7:03.1 in the repechange. In addition, UC?s first varsity four (7:53.4) and first novice eight (7:10.8) will compete in the C-Final after fifth place finishes in their respective heats.
Action gets underway with day two of the NCAA Regionals on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.
