HANAHAN, S.C.?Junior Allison Couch is the leading Bearcat golfer, tied for 55th as the University of Cincinnati women?s golf team completed day one of the season-opening College of Charleston Cougar Invitational.
Couch (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) shot rounds of 78 and 82 in the first round of play Monday to help the Bearcats to 17th in the team standings. Junior Alysa Few (London, Ontario/East Tennessee State), in her first tournament as a Bearcat, is just one stroke behind Couch, tied for 60th after opening rounds of 81 and 80. Tina Miller of the team leading the standings, Miami (Fla.), is the individual leader at -5. UC trails Appalachian State by five strokes in the team standings.
The tournament?s final 18 holes get underway at the Yeamans Hall Golf Club at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Live scoring from the tournament can be found by logging onto www.golfstat.com.
