Cole Earns C-USA Honors
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- University of Cincinnati junior Trent Cole has been named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Bearcats' win over Temple on Saturday.
Cole had 14 tackles, including 10 solo stops, and three sacks in UC's 30-24 overtime victory. The 6-4, 227-pound junior from Wilberforce, Ohio leads the Bearcats in tackles for loss with 6.5 and quarterback sacks (2) and shares the team's tackles lead with Jamar Enzor, both with 31.
Kevin Kolb, who passed for 321 yards and four touchdowns in Houston's 42-35 win over Mississippi State, earned C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honors. TCU kicker Kevin Brown, who accounted for 12 of his team's 30 points in the Horned Frogs' win over Vanderbilt, earned Special Teams Player of the Week plaudits.
