WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- The University of Cincinnati women?s soccer team fell to the College of William and Mary 3-1, Sunday. With the loss, Cincinnati falls to 3-10-1 on the season while the Tribe improves to 8-4-2.

?We played very well,? head coach Meridy Glenn said. ?It was pretty even in the first 45 minutes. Tracy had a really good first half as well.?

Tasha Wagner (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) scored the first goal of the game, putting the Bearcats up 1-0 six minutes into the second half when she took a long pass from Lisa Stephens (Union, Mo/Union) and blasted it into the opposite corner of the goal.

?Stephens found Tasha and she cranked it in on the right side,? Glenn added. ?It was really nice.?

Taline Tahmassian answered just three minutes later for the William and Mary, sending a left footed shot past UC keeper Tracy Hale (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South) from 18 yards out to tie the score. She netted what would prove to be the game-winner in the 69th minute. Lindsey Vanderspiegel dribbled the ball down the right side of the field and passed it to Tara Flint. Flint fed it to Tahmassian who sent it in from the top of the box.

Wagner nearly tied the score again when she broke through two defenders and fired a low shot into the box. Keeper Nikki Villott made a diving save to keep the score 2-1 in William and Mary?s favor.

?Tasha had three pretty good looks,? Glenn said. ?Their keeper made one big save.

Kristen Wolfer drew Hale out of the box in the 80th minute, and Flint tapped the ball into the empty net, ensuring the victory for the Tribe.

Cincinnati returns to conference play on Friday when it travels to Chicago, Ill. to take on DePaul at 7:00.
