LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- The University of Cincinnati women?s soccer team dropped its final game of the 2003 season 1-0 to Louisville on the road on Saturday.
Louisville?s Jamie Croft blasted a cross high across the mouth of the goal with 2:09 remaining in the match. Lindsey Scheer headed it past Sherry Slye (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) for the lone goal of the match to capture the victory for the Cardinals.
With the loss, Cincinnati falls to 5-13-1on the season, 3-7-0 in Conference USA action. Louisville improves to 7-9-2, 2-7-1 to close the 2003 season. This is the first time in the history of the team that the Bearcats have lost more than 12 games in one season.
Playing in the final game of their careers, two Cincinnati seniors have made a name for themselves in the record book. Kristina Wilson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) started every game of her career, and tied Tracy Pohl for the most number of career starts with 89. They are both tied for second for the most games played just one behind record holder Krystin Flanagan. Tasha Wagner (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) moved up to second for all-time assists with 24, just five behind the leader, Tina Matlock.
