Brown Named 2003 NSCAA Scholar All-America

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Tim Brown, a University of Cincinnati men's soccer senior, has been named a 2003 NSCAA Scholar All-America. Brown has also been selected to play on New Zealand's 2004 Olympic qualifying team.
Brown (Wellington, New Zealand/Victoria College) posts a 3.722 GPA in graphic design. He was tied for first on the team with six goals and helped Cincinnati to its first ever share of the Conference USA regular season crown. Brown was named to Soccer America Magazine's National Team of the Week on Oct. 23 for scoring the game-winning goal in UC's double overtime 4-3 victory over then No. 5 Saint Louis, and was selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-American, first team All C-USA, C-USA All-Tournament team, first team All-Ohio and second team All-Great Lakes Region in 2003. He was inducted into UC's Legion of Excellence in 2003.
Brown played on New Zealand's under-22 national team in both 2001 and 2003 and will participate with New Zealand's 20 member Olympic Squad in the OFC Qualifying Tournament beginning January 14, 2004. New Zealand is set to face the Cook Islands in the first round. Brown, one of six midfielders selected, is joined by three other Division I soccer players, currently attending college in the United States.
