Bobbitt Takes C-USA Player Honors

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- University of Cincinnati senior Tony Bobbitt has been named Conference USA co-Player of the Week., sharing the honor with Memphis senior Antonio Burks.
Bobbitt averaged 24.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals in two games last week. Making the first start of his career, he tallied a season-high 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting to key the Bearcats' 80-67 win over USF. The 6-4 guard from Daytona Beach, Fla., returned to his sixth man role for Sunday's 91-85 loss at No. 18 Wake Forest and scored 23 points.
Bobbitt, who has taken over the UC team scoring lead, averaging 14.6 points, ranks second nationally in scoring among players who do not normally start for their teams.
Burks guided Memphis to wins at East Carolina and Marquette which put the Tigers in sole possession of first place. The 6-foot Memphis native scored a career-high 25 points vs. East Carolina and had 14 points and 11 assists vs. Marquette.
