White Takes C-USA Player Honors

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- University of Cincinnati sophomore James White has been named Conference USA co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with DePaul senior Andre Brown.
White played a key role in leading the Bearcats to wins over Saint Louis and Charlotte, which put UC in a tie with Memphis for first place. In Wednesday's game vs. Saint Louis, White posted career bests of 23 points and 11 rebounds, making 10-of-14 field goal tries. He also had seven assists, three steals and two rebounds.
The 6-7 forward from Kensington, Md. handed out a career-high nine assists in Saturday's win at Charlotte. For the week, White averaged 14.5 points, 8.0 assists and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 69 percent from the field.
Brown averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting .762 from the field in DePaul's wins over Louisville and Southern Miss.
White and Brown will face each other when Cincinnati meets DePaul on Thursday in a key C-USA game at 9 p.m. EST in Rosemont, Ill.
White is the second UC player to earn conference honors this season. Tony Bobbitt was the co-player of the week for the period Feb. 9-15.
