DADE CITY, Fla.---Behind a second round score of 75 by sophomore Adam Fluty, the University of Cincinnati men?s golf team is in 13th place at the 2004 Conference USA Tournament after 36 holes.
Fluty (Columbus, Ohio/Westerville North) is tied for 39th with a two-day score of 153. Freshman Geoff Newman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) is just four strokes behind Fluty after a day two 79 to end the day tied for 58th.
In the team standings, the Bearcats shot a second day 312, four shots better than their opening round score, but slipped to 13th in the team rankings, 19 strokes behind 12th-place Memphis. TCU is running away with the top spot, leading by 15 strokes over second place Charlotte.
The tournament concludes on Wednesday, with the final 18 holes from the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. The first tee time is set for 7:45 a.m.
