FORT WORTH, Texas---Junior Allison Couch finished the 2004 Conference USA Tournament in 22nd place to lead the University of Cincinnati women?s golf team in its final event of the season. The finish by Couch was her best ever in the conference meet.
After struggling on day one with a 92, Couch (Centerville, Ohio) bounced back on the final two days of the event, carding an 82 on Tuesday and finishing with a 75 in the final round to give her a score of 249, just two strokes off of a top-20 finish. Junior Alysa Few (London, Ontario/Oakridge Secondary) was the second-highest placing Bearcat, ending the event tied for 35th with 263, after a final round 89.
In the team standings, the Bearcats finished in ninth place with a total score of 1,070. Tulane ran away with the team championship, finishing 18 shots ahead of TCU with a score of 941. The Green Wave?s Liliana Alvarez earned medalist honors after rounds of 77, 77 and 72 to win by one stroke over East Carolina?s Adrienne Millican.
