CINCINNATI, Ohio--University of Cincinnati assistant volleyball coach and former playing great Stephanie (Meinig) Rosfeld will be laid to rest this Saturday, Aug. 14 in Cincinnati following her untimely passing earlier this week.
The visitation for Stephanie will be held at the Nurre-Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home on Friday (Aug. 13) from 4-9 p.m. The funeral home is located at 10211 Plainfield Rd. in the Evendale-Blue Ash area.
The funeral will be held on Saturday morning, starting at 10 a.m. at the St. Monica-St. George Catholic Church in Clifton. The church address is 325 W. McMillan St., near Hughes High School. The burial will immediately follow the service at the Rest Haven Memorial Park on Plainfield Rd., near the funeral home.
The family of Stephanie is requesting that all memorials be made to either the University of Cincinnati Women?s Volleyball Team or the American Cancer Society in honor of Stephanie?s grandparents.
Rosfeld was an integral part of helping the Bearcats to five consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, the first two as a player and the last three in a row as a member of head coach Reed Sunahara?s coaching staff. Prior to the 2003 season, Rosfeld was elevated to the top assistant for Sunahara and was primarily responsible for the coordination of recruiting, along with practice planning and scouting.
The former Stephanie Meinig, 25, graduated from UC in 2001 with a degree in health promotions. She married ex-Bearcat football player Doug Rosfeld and the couple welcomed their first son, William, into the world in May 2004. Rosfeld is a native of Washington, Ill., where she attended Washington Community High School.
