Meridy Glenn's Bearcats scored an 11-0 win in their first match in Europe on Sunday.

KILMARNOCK, Scotland---The University of Cincinnati women?s soccer team opened its preseason trip to Europe in a big way as they defeated FC Kilmarnock of the Premier League by an 11-0 score on Sunday. Sophomore Ana Farmer made a stellar return to her home country by netting three of UC?s goals.

Farmer (Renfrewshire, Scotland/Paisley Grammar) led a Bearcat offensive attack that saw four players notch multiple goals, led by Farmer?s hat trick. UC?s starting forwards for the match, senior Lisa Stephens (Union, Mo./Union) and junior Marie Strelka (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) each tallied a pair of scores as did junior midfielder Jennifer Sibert (Goshen, Ky./South Oldham) off the bench.

?I thought we really dominated the pace of the game,? said Bearcat head coach Meridy Glenn. ?It was a great way to start off the year for us and we look forward to playing the rest of our matches here in Europe.?

In goal, all three of the Bearcats? keepers saw time, with senior Tracy Hale (Westerville, Ohio/South) drawing the start. Junior Sherry Slye (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) who started the majority of last season?s contests, also saw time between the pipes, as did true freshman Jen Doerflein (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton).

Rounding out the list of UC goal scorers with one marker each were sophomore Becky Imhoff (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas), a member of last season?s Conference USA All-Freshman Team and another of this season?s newcomers, Amanda Ryan (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley).

The Bearcats will play another contest over seas on Monday night in anticipation of the season-opener back in the USA on Aug. 27. UC will travel to the Boilermaker Invitational for the first weekend of play, with New Mexico as the first scheduled opponent.
