Throughout the UC Women's Soccer Team's journey through Europe this month, members of the squad will share their thoughts on the experience. The first two contributors are senior midfielder Lisa Stephens and sophomore midfielder Ana Farmer.

This was the day of our first game in Scotland against Kilmarnock. It was exciting to be playing in my home country but at the same time strange. I'd played against this team for the past two years but never thought I'd be coming to Scotland as part of an American university team to play old teams again. In the past games, when I was with my Club team we had mostly won, however not to the extent that myself and new teammates won today! That shows you the difference in the level of professionalism of women's soccer in the USA.
Funny enough I wasn't nervous today, I guess playing on my home turf settled me. I was happy to be playing and scoring a hat trick in my first game--Nice!
It truly is great to be back home, but for me it means much more to be a part of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.

Today was a much anticipated day; first day of competition. You could tell everyone was thrilled to finally play in a match. No one knew exactly how the competition was going to be....but it didn't matter, we were excited to play. When we got to the location of our game we were antsy to get off the bus and start getting ready. Shingaurds on, socks up, shirts tucked in, hair pulled back. When we walked to the field, it was a lot smaller than what we are used to. The area we had in which to warm up in was small for 23 players, but we managed. Warm up went well. As the game time came around we were ready, you could tell in our faces. We were going to win! When we stepped on that field and the whistle blew, we dominated the game to an 11-0 victory. It was a great game to start our preseason with.
