On Thursday August 19th the Bearcats faced off against the women's team from Wezemal, Belgium. The Bearcats were coming off of several training days and competition in Scotland that left us drained and unable to hold off a strong and quick Belgium team. There were still some excellant goal attempts were made in the first half by Buland, Mink, Strelka and Stephens. As the game progressed the Bearcats began to adjust to the Belgium speed and agility to create a more balanced game.

After a cleared corner kick sent in by Stephens, Cara Alldred came up from the back to hit a long shot from 25 yards out that went over the top of the goal.

Although the match ended in a 7-0 Bearcat defeat it offered them an opportunity to gain more experience as the team for 2004 so that they are better prepared for the upcoming competition.

Today was another exciting Travel Day a.k.a. Day of Travel for us. Our day started with an early practice at 7:30am. We arrived back from practice around 10am to get some much needed breakfast and to pack up and head to Holland. Before we left for the airport we had to say our goodbyes to Anna Framer's mother Pauline and brother Jamie. It was great to finally meet them and have their help while touring Scotland. They are a wonderful family and the entire team is excited to see them again in September 2005 as they will be visiting us in the States.

Once we reached the airport that is when the madness started. We were restricted to the amount of weight we could carry in our luggage. Each person was to only have 15kilos/ 35lbs in their checked luggage, but that was definitely a struggle for us. However we managed to meet our team weight limit with the the help of Anna Barrett and Jamie Clark who loaded part of their to be checked luggage into their already heavy carry on luggage.

Our plane to Belgium left an hour late and the flight itself was no smooth ride. There were many times that the turbulance made most of us squemish, but we finally arrived in Brussles along with all of our luggage (even Mrs. May's). After that we caught up with our new bus driver and tour guide, Mark. It was a two hour drive to our hotel whoch is located in Volkanburg, Holland. After a long day of practice and travels we got to bed.

See all of you soon.
