Enzor on Butkus Award List

CINCINNATI, Ohio ? University of Cincinnati senior linebacker Jamar Enzor is one of 62 candidates on the watch list for the Butkus Award, which honors college football's top linebacker.
Enzor is one of seven Conference USA linebackers to earn early consideration for the award. The others are Michael Boley of Southern Miss, Robert McCune of Louisville, Zac Woodfin of UAB, Chris Moore of East Carolina,Wade Koehl of Houston and Stephen Nicholas of USF.
A third team All-Conference USA selection, Enzor was the Bearcats leading tackler in 2003, his first as a full-time starter at the middle linebacker position. He made a total of 137 tackles, 79 solos, while helping the UC defense finish 27th in yards allowed in the final NCAA statistics.
This is the 20th year for the Butkus Award, which is sponsored by the Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando, Inc. The watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on Oct. 14, and trimmed down to three via a national teleconference with the players, coaches and members of the media, and Butkus Award officials on Nov. 11.
Enzor is the fourth Bearcat to make a watch list for a national award. Quarterback Gino Guidugli is on the watch list for the Davey O'Brien Award while defensive end Trent Cole and offensive guard Kyle Takavitz are on the Lombardi Award watch list.
