The University of Cincinnati men?s cross country teams took home the team title today, Sept. 11, at the Mel Brodt Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio. The UC women finished third of six Division I teams competing in the event.
Senior Eric Bair (Canton, Ohio/Canton South) was the top finisher for the Bearcat men, placing third in 25:38. UC placed five runners in the top ten and 11 among the top 25. Sophomore Brad Neumann (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) finished fifth in 25:42 and junior Mike Smith (Fostoria, Ohio/St. Wendelin) took home the seventh-place time in 25:47.
For the women, senior Ruth Limo (Eldoret, Kenya/University of Toledo) finished in third with a time of 17:46. Junior Karen Berling (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) also scored for the Bearcats, placing 12th in 18:28.
The University of Tennessee won the women?s team title, placing five runners among the top 11 finishers.
Both Bearcat cross country teams return home next weekend to play host to the Queen City Invitational on Friday, Sept. 17 at Mount Airy Forest.
