Jeremiah Gallegos (Laguna Beach, Calif./St. Margaret) scored twice to lead the University of Cincinnati men?s soccer team to a 3-2 victory against Bradley tonight at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats notched their first win of the season and christened the newly renovated Gettler Stadium with a win.

UC got on the board first, scoring 11:11 into the match. Gallegos took a pass from senior Wiremu Patrick (Wellington, New Zealand/Wellington) and raced past the Bradley defense, beating keeper Chris Dunsheath inside the left post for his first goal of the season.

Cincinnati added to its lead when Gallegos banged home a loose ball in front of the net following a corner kick by senior John Liersemann (Carrollton, Texas/Trinity Christian) in the 28th minute.

Bradley made a match of it by scoring two unanswered goals. Luke Kreamalmeyer scored his second of the season and Nick Mentgen added his first career goal in the 57th minute to tie the score.

But Patrick would answer just 56 seconds later, delivering the game-winner off a Kwame Sarkodie feed to put the Bearcats ahead for good.

?He (Patrick) is one of our leaders. He really worked tirelessly tonight,? UC head coach Hylton Dayes said. ?He?s a good finisher. That was a great game-winner for us.?

The Bearcats improved to 1-3-0 on the season, with all four matches being decided by one goal.
