CINCINNATI, Ohio ? The University of Cincinnati cross country teams won the 23rd annual Queen City Invitational today (Sept. 19) at Mt. Airy Forest.

Senior Ruth Limo (Mosoriot, Kenya/Univ. of Toledo) won the women?s race in 19:58.35, her second win in three races this season. Limo also won the Flyer 5K on Sept. 4. Junior Karen Berling (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) placed 4th in 19:30.71. Following closely behind Berling was sophomore Cristy Doll (North Bend, Ohio/Taylor), clocking in at 19:46.77. The Bearcats had eight runners finish in the top 14 spots. Morehead State placed second, followed by Marshall and Kentucky State.

The UC men occupied the top eight spots in the race, with winner sophomore Kevin Schwarz (Maineville, Ohio/Moeller) checking in at 26:12.11. Senior Mike Smith (Fostoria, Ohio/St. Wendelin) was the runner-up, finishing three seconds back in 26:15.63. The next six Bearcat runners finished within four seconds of each other.

The Bearcats are next in action when they travel to South Bend, Indiana for the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 1.
