UC Falls To. No. 9 Florida

GAINESVILLE, Florida ? The University of Cincinnati women?s soccer team lost to No. 9 Florida, 4-0, today (Sept. 19) at James G. Pressly Stadium. The Bearcats were outshot by the Gators, 18-5, in the match but trailed by only one goal at the end of the first half.
KeLeigh Hudson netted the first goal of the game at 31:50, gathering in a rebounded shot and slipping it past UC keeper Tracy Hale (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South). The halftime lead quickly grew as less than a minute into the second half, the Bearcats knocked the ball into their own goal on a long Florida crossing pass.
The Gators then put the match away with two late goals, one each by Cherry Pickman and Jessica Young, sending the Bearcats to a 2-5-0 record.
Cincinnati?s Jen Doerflein saw her first action in goal this season, playing the final 20 minutes and allowing one goal while recording two saves.
UC had won two straight matches following an 0-4-0 start. The Bearcats open the Conference USA season on Sept. 24 at UAB at 7 p.m. CT.
