MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.---Freshman Hillery Wilson shot a career-best round of 76 to lead the University of Cincinnati women?s golf team in the first day of play at the Unlimited Potential Bay Tree Classic.

Wilson (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) is tied for 16th after 18 holes, helping UC to 12th in the team standings. Senior Alysa Few (London, Ontario/East Tennessee State) also matched her season-best round with a score of 77 to end the day tied for 23rd.

The team standings are tight with just six strokes seperating the top-six teams and only 18 shots between first and 12th. Western Carolina holds a one shot lead over UNC-Wilmington on top, while UC trails 11th place Mercer by just three shots.

The tournament continues with 18 more holes, getting underway at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The final round is set for Sunday from the BayTree Golf Plantation.
