MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.?Freshman Hillery Wilson shot a final round 72 to secure the first top-five finish of her career Sunday at the Unlimited Potential Bay Tree Classic.
Wilson (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) finished the three-day tournament with a score of 219 (three-over par), just one shot out of fourth place and nine away from the top spot. Michelle Jarman finished the tournament at minus-three with a score of 210.
The team standings showed Cincinnati in the ninth position with a final total of 936. UC shot a round of 308, its best of the season, in Sunday?s final round.
Senior Alysa Few (London, Ontario/East Tennessee State) carded a final round 79 to finish tied for 48th for the Bearcats. UC?s other outstanding freshman Allison Mayborg (Monroe, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) shot a personal tournament-best 76 to end the event just one shot back of Few and tied for 50th.
The Bearcats will return to action at the Huskie Classic in Huntley, Illinois next weekend. The two-day tournament is set to begin on Sunday at Whisper Creek at Del Web.
