Cross Country Teams Finish 2nd at Flyer 5K Challenge

Limo wins women?s individual title

Senior Ruth Limo

The University of Cincinnati cross-country team opened its season with a pair of second-place finishes at the Flyer 5K Challenge today (Sept. 4).

Leading the women was senior Ruth Limo (Eldoret, Kenya/University of Toledo), who took home the individual title in 18:43. Also scoring for the women was junior Karen Berling (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton), who finished fourth with a time of 19:14. Sophomore Christy Doll (Northbend, Ohio/Taylor) placed eighth in 19:33.

For the Bearcat men, sophomore Kevin Schwarz (Maineville, Ohio/Moeller) was the top finisher, placing fifth in 15:45. Senior Eric Bair (Canton, Ohio/Canton South) nabbed eighth place at 15:48, followed by freshman Keegan Rathkamp (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) in 10th position at 15:50.

Miami University won both the men?s and women?s team titles.

The Bearcats will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio for the Mel Brodt Invitational on Sept. 11.
