Meyer advanced to 47th in the final rundown after securing a new career-best and finishing with a total of 226, just seven strokes back of Newman. The final team standings showed UC in 10th place after carding a final round of 293, just one shot off of the team?s season-best. The Bearcats finished with a 54-hole total of 897, just nine strokes back of Longwood. Eastern Kentucky finished at 22-under par and won the team title with an 842.

CAREER BESTS: A trio of Bearcat golfers have scored new career-best rounds in the early stages of the 2004 season. Sophomore Geoff Newman was the first to accomplish the feat as he opened the season with back-to-back rounds of 71 at the Butler Invitational. He also shot a 71 at the Eastern Kentucky Colonel Classic. EKU was also a good tournament for junior Justin Wilson and sophomore Justin Meyer. Wilson shot UC?s lowest round of the year and a career-best 70 in the second round, while Meyer carded a 71in the final round.
