RALEIGH, N.C. ? Junior Jill Klauck reached the semifinals of the C2 Draw to lead the University of Cincinnati tennis team?s participation in the first two days of the Wolfpack Invitational hosted by North Carolina State.
Klauck defeated Lauren Fillietaz of UNC Wilmington and Army?s Pam Chavez in straight sets to reach the semis. Fillietaz was the number two seed in the draw. Klauck was finally knocked out by Sarize Coetzee from Coastal Carolina, 6-3, 6-2.
Also performing well was freshman Lindsay Brown. After falling to fourth-seeded Kate Levitt of Davidson in the first round in the B2 draw, she topped UNCA Asheville?s Lindsay Boykin to reach the backdraw semifinals.
The tournament concludes on Sunday, Oct. 17.
