Head Coach Hylton Dayes and the Bearcats defeated Saint Louis, 4-3, in overtime last season

The University of Cincinnati men?s soccer team (4-7-2/3-2-1 C-USA) visits perennial power Saint Louis at Hermann Stadium on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. CT. The Bearcats will then return home to face the Bowling Green Falcons at Gettler Stadium on Oct. 24 at 3:30 p.m. immediately following the UC women?s match against Charlotte.

LAST TIME OUT: Cincinnati shutout previously unbeaten and 13th-ranked USF, 1-0, on Oct. 16 at Gettler Stadium.

HOT CATS: The Bearcats are the hottest team in C-USA at the moment, unbeaten in their last four matches. UC holds a 2-0-2 record in those four matches and has outscored its opponents by a 6-2 margin.

SCOUTING THE BILLIKENS: The Saint Louis Billikens (7-4-1/4-1-1 C-USA) enter the UC match in second place behind Memphis in the C-USA race.

Sophomore Will John leads C-USA with 21 points on nine goals and three assists. He has been named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week on three separate occassions this season.

Fourth-year head coach Dan Donigan (Connecticut ?93) holds a 55-14-6 record overall with Saint Louis.

UC-SAINT LOUIS SERIES HISTORY: UC won its first match against Saint Louis in 2003 by a 4-3 score in overtime. The Billikens lead the all-time series 14-1-4.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS: The Bowling Green Falcons (0-14-0/0-4-0 MAC) visit Gettler Stadium winless in 14 matches this season.

The Falcons have been outscored 52-13 on the year. Junior Omari Aldridge leads BGSU with three goals and seven points.

Fred Thompson (George Mason ?87) is in his first season at the helm of the Falcons.

UC-BGSU SERIES HISTORY: The Falcons hold a 5-0-1 record against UC in the short history of the in-state rivals. The two teams played to a scoreless tie last season.

PATRICK CLIMBING CHARTS: Senior forward Wiremu Patrick continues his ascent up the Bearcat career scoring lists. Patrick has scored six goals this season, moving into sole possession of sixth place on the school?s all-time goals list with 26. Patrick also owns the seventh-highest career point total in UC history with 63 total points.

CUTTING IT CLOSE: Although the Bearcats are 4-7-2, they have played each match tight, with 11 matches being decided by one goal or less. Cincinnati, fielding a young team that starts only four seniors, has played a tough schedule that has included three top-25 teams and three 2003 NCAA Tournament participants.

SHOOTING BLANKS: The Bearcats have launched plenty of shots this season, outshooting opponents by a 166-158 count. But the quality of the shots has not necessarily matched the quantity. UC has been able to fire only 56 attempts on goal, a league-low 34 percent. Not surprisingly, the Bearcats? leading scorer, Wiremu Patrick, also leads the team in shots on goal with 15.

BEARCAT ONE-TWO PUNCH: Seniors Wiremu Patrick and Jeremiah Gallegos have combined to score 11 of the Bearcat?s 14 goals and record 23 of UC?s 41 points this season. The Bearcats are 3-2-2 when one of the two veterans nets a goal. Gallegos scored two goals in a 3-2 win against Bradley on Sept. 16. Not to be outdone, Patrick notched a pair of tallies in the Bearcat?s 3-0 win at Charlotte on Oct. 9.

C-USA POLL: The Bearcats have been picked to finish fifth in a preseason poll of Conference USA?s coaches. Perennial power Saint Louis was tabbed as the top team in the conference, while UC, UAB, USF, and Charlotte look to wrestle the title away from the Billikens.

COMING UP: The Bearcats will travel to Lexington, Ky. for their final road match of the season, a non-conference battle with Kentucky on Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
