BOSTON, Mass.---Former University of Cincinnati baseball star Kevin Youkilis will be a part of the Boston Red Sox 25-man roster for the 2004 World Series which gets underway on Saturday night.
Youkilis, who was named the American League Rookie of the Month for May, appeared in 72 games for the Red Sox this season. After homering in the first game of his career, Youkilis finished the season with a .260 batting average, 11 doubles, seven home runs and 35 RBI. He also appeared in one game during Boston?s Divisional Series against Anaheim.
At UC, Youkilis set numerous school records before being selected in the eighth round of the 2001 Major League Draft by Boston.
