LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team lost for the first time in the last seven matches, 2-0, on a sloppy night at Kentucky. The Bearcats (6-8-2/4-2-1 C-USA), attempting to get to .500 for the season, had gone 4-0-2 in their last six matches.

The Wildcats (10-4-3), the Mid-American Conference regular season champions, scored twice just under 10 minutes apart in the first half. Brandon Stewart headed home a Jamal Shteiwi corner kick in the 19th minute. Stewart beat UC keeper Mike Vessells (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin), who hadn't allowed a goal in three straight matches.

Less than 10 minutes later, Michael D'Agostino corraled a teammate's blocked shot and delivered his third goal of the season for the final margin.

UC last met Kentucky in the 2003 NCAA Tournament, where the Bearcats and Wildcats played to a scoreless tie. UK advanced on penalty kicks. Kentucky has shutout six of its last 15 opponents. The Bearcats were shutout for the sixth time this season.

Cincinnati returns home to finish out its regular season schedule with two conference home matches. Rival Louisville travels to Gettler Stadium on Oct. 31 for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Marquette will then visit on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
