IRVING, Texas ? Former University of Cincinnati cross country athlete Angie Kist has been named to the Conference USA All-Decade team, announced by the league on Oct. 28.
Kist became the first female to earn All-C-USA honors for four consecutive seasons when she finished 12th at the 2001 meet. Kist placed seventh in 1998, earning C-USA Freshman of the Year honors. She was named team MVP for the 1998 season. Kist finished third in 1999 and seventh in 2000 at the C-USA meet. Kist posted 10 top-five finishes in her career, including two individual championships and was named C-USA athlete of the week twice.
Conference USA is celebrating its 10th anniversary during the 2004-05 season. In conjunction, the league is naming a Team of the Decade for each of the conference?s 19 sports. Voting on the All-Decade awards was done by each of the league?s current Women?s Cross Country coaches.
