Allison Couch and the Bearcats will wrap up the fall schedule at the Edwin Watts Intercollegiate.

SETTING THE SCENE: The University of Cincinnati women?s golf team will wrap up the fall portion of its 2004-05 season when they compete in the Edwin Watts Intercollegiate, beginning Monday (Nov. 1). The two-day tournament will be played at the Kiawah Island Oak Point on Kiawah Island, S.C. and will be hosted by the College of Charleston.

LAST YEAR?S EDWIN WATTS INTERCOLLEGIATE: Alysa Few shot rounds of 79 and 81 as the Bearcats wrapped up it?s fall season at the Edwin Watts Intercollegiate. Few finished tied for 52nd, just one stroke better than teammate Allison Couch. Couch carded final rounds of 81 and 80. In the team standings, Cincinnati finished 17th in a 18-team field. Notre Dame picked up the team championship.

TOURNAMENT WIN: Freshman Hillery Wilson has already made a big impact on the Cincinnati women?s golf program this fall, but none bigger than her performance at the Huskie Classic Oct. 3-4. For the first time in her career, Wilson earned medalist honors, finishing the tournament with a two-round score of 157 and tied with Lisa Bailey of Northern Illinois. The win was the first by a Bearcat since Allison Couch put up back-to-back victories in the Krump Kup and Bronco Invitational last spring.

IN THE RANKINGS: The latest Golfweek rankings show the Bearcats as the 157th ranked team in the country. Individually, all nine players are in the rankings. The players with their rankings include: Hillery Wilson (504), Alysa Few (667), Allison Mayborg (682), Mya Pronschinske (894), Allison Couch (1031), Sarah Bires (1092), Emily Elliott (1258), Jackie Nimer (1363), Sarah Ryan (1401).

PERFECT SHOT: Sophomore Sarah Bires had a golfer?s dream during the first round of the Great Smokies Intercollegiate on Oct. 18 when she carded the first hole in one of her collegiate career. On the 11th hole of the Waynesville Country Club, Bires fired the shot on a par-three from 145 yards. Her hole in one is the 16th in the nation this fall by a women?s player and the second by a Conference USA player.
