DAYTON, Ohio?Junior Adam Fluty?s round of 78 was good enough for a top-10 finish, leading the University of Cincinnati men?s golf team at the Dayton Fall Invitational, held at NCR Country Club.
Fluty (Columbus, Ohio/Westerville North) finished the tournament tied for eighth, as UC finished tied for fourth in the five-team standings. The Bearcats carded a team total of 326 for the day to tie with Oakland?s second squad. The top team from Oakland took the team prize with a score of 296.
Trailing Fluty in the standings for Cincinnati were freshman Peter Heile (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) and junior Justin Wilson (Canfield, Ohio/Western Reserve), each tied for 17th with scores of 82. The round for Heile was the first of his collegiate career.
The Bearcats will be back in action beginning Friday when they compete in the three-day Mission Inn Collegiate Classic. The tournament, to be hosted by Winthrop University will be held in Howie In The Hills, Fla.
