KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C.---Senior Alysa Few shot rounds of 81 and 79 to lead the University of Cincinnati women?s golf team in the final two rounds of the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate, hosted by the College of Charleston.
Few (London, Ontario/Oakridge Secondary) finished the tournament in 72nd place with a three-round score of 241. Freshman Allison Mayborg (Monroe, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) finished just one stroke behind Few, with senior Allison Couch (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) just another shot back in 76th. Sophomore Sarah Bires (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) matched her season-best total with a 78 in the tournament?s second round.
In the team standings, UC shot 320 in each of the final two rounds to finish the tournament 16th with a score of 967. Campbell won the team championship by three strokes over Michigan with a score of 882.
The Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate concludes the fall portion of the schedule for the Bearcats. The team will open the balance of the slate in March 2005.
