CINCINNATI, Ohio -- University of Cincinnati quarterback Gino Guidugli, who broke a school record by throwing five touchdown passes in Saturday's win over then-No. 21 Southern Miss, has been named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.

Guidugli, a senior from Ft. Thomas, Ky., completed 19 of 26 passes for 308 yards--his third 300-plus passing performance in the last five games--against the Golden Eagles, who entered the game ranked 16th nationally in pass defense and 10th in passing efficiency defense. He connected with Hannibal Thomas for three touchdowns vs. USM, including an 80-yard TD pass, UC's longest since 1995.

In Cincinnati's three-game win streak, Guidugli has completed 45 of 70 passes without an interception for 645 yards and 9 TD, giving him a passing efficiency rating of 184.12.

Guidugli becomes the fifth Bearcat to earn conference honors this season. Last week, defensive end Andre Frazier was named Defensive Player of the Week and punter Chet Ervin captured Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Defensive end Trent Cole earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades following the Sept. 25 victory at East Carolina and Richard Hall was named Offensive Player of the Week after the Bearcats Sept. 11 win over Miami.

The Bearcats are idle this weekend before hosting USF in their home final at Nippert Stadium on Nov. 20. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m.
