CINCINNATI, Ohio ? Cincinnati junior midfielder Matt Hayden (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. As an all-district choice, Hayden is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
Hayden, a finance major, holds a 3.816 GPA. This is his second All-District selection. He also earned academic accolades in 2002. Hayden is one of just two juniors selected to the team.
This season, Hayden has started 16 of 17 matches in the midfield, scoring his lone goal against No. 24 SMU on Sept. 12. He added an assist against Charlotte on Oct. 9.
District IV consists of all NCAA Division I universities in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. The CoSIDA Academic All-America team will be named on Nov. 24.
