CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Gino Guidugli, who passed for a career-high 377 yards in leading Cincinnati to a 45-23 win over USF on Saturday, has been named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.
It is the second time in three weeks that the senior from Ft. Thomas, Ky., has earned C-USA honors. He was honored after his UC record-setting five-touchdown pass performance in the Nov. 6 win over then-No. 21 Southern Miss.
Guidugli completed 30 of 36 passes, with no interceptions, for 377 yards and three touchdowns. He had a 49-yard TD toss to Bill Poland late in the first half, less than a minute after USF had tied the game, and had TD passes of 17 yards to Doug Jones and six yards to Brent Celek in the second half as Cincinnati scored 21 unanswered points to put the game away.
Over his last four games, Guidugli has completed 71 percent of his passes (75 of 106) for 1,022 yards and 12 TDs, giving him an efficiency rating of 189.09. He has thrown 141 passes without an interception.
Cincinnati has copped six C-USA Player of the Week awards this season. In addition to the two honors won by Guidugli, defensive end Andre Frazier was named Defensive Player of the Week and punter Chet Ervin captured Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the Oct. 30 win over TCU. Defensive end Trent Cole earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades following the Sept. 25 victory at East Carolina and Richard Hall was named Offensive Player of the Week after the Bearcats' Sept. 11 win over Miami.
The Bearcats visit No. 7 Louisville this Saturday (2:30 p.m. ESPN2) in their regular season finale.
