CINCINNATI, Ohio---The University of Cincinnati baseball team has added a seventh member to its 2004-05 signing class with the addition of Rochester Hills, Mich. native Keith Kampe.
Kampe is a three-sport star at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep High School, where he excels in baseball, basketball and football. Kampe, an outfielder, has been recognized as an All-Catholic League choice in each of the three sports and was named one of the top 50 basketball players in the state by Prep Spotlight.
?We are really thrilled to add such a quality player to this class,? said Bearcat head coach Brian Cleary. ?While we are certainly excited about Keith?s ability, we are more excited about the toughness and character he will bring to the program.?
Kampe, whose father Greg is the head men?s basketball coach at Oakland University, hit .412 as a junior at Notre Dame Prep, while stealing 27 bases. He currently holds a 3.93 GPA and has received numerous merit scholarships.
