The University of Cincinnati has received an invitation to the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl, to be played on Thursday, Dec. 23 at 6:30 p.m. EST.
The bowl, one of five with which Conference USA holds affiliation, normally matches teams from C-USA and the Big 12. The Big 12 does not have enough bowl-eligible teams available. Negotiations are underway with the Atlantic Coast, BIG EAST and Mid-American Conferences for an opponent.
This will be Cincinnati?s fourth bowl appearance in the past five seasons. The Bearcats, 6-5, rallied from a 2-4 start to finish in a tie for second place in Conference USA with a 5-3 league ledger.
