COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.---University of Cincinnati volleyball senior Julie DuPont has been named an honorable mention All-Ameican, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced.
DuPont (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) has been named an All-American two straight years, after earning a third team award last year. This year, DuPont was touted as the Conference USA Player of the Year for the second straight season, while also being named a first team Academic All-American and earning a spot on C-USA's 10th anniversary All-Decade Team. She finished the year as UC's leader in career kills with 2,137, while also ranking in the top-10 of numerous career lists. As a senior, DuPont ranked second in C-USA in kills per game (4.90), while also adding 3.26 digs and 0.77 blocks per game.
DuPont was eligible for All-American status after earning a spot on the AVCA All-Region first team last week. She became UC's first ever volleyball All-American when she was elected to the third team in 2003.
