11 Bearcats Earn C-USA Grid Honors

CINCINNATI, Ohio ? The University of Cincinnati placed 11 players?the most of any member school?on the 2004 All-Conference USA football teams, selected by the coaches and media representatives.
Seniors Kyle Takavitz, Trent Cole and Andre Frazier were named to the All-C-USA first team. Takavitz (6-4, 311; Powell, Ohio), a three-year starter on the offensive line, and Cole (6-4, 260; Wilberforce, Ohio), who ranks third at UC in career sacks (45), were first team selections last season. Frazier (6-5, 240; Cincinnati), who ranks second in career sacks (21.5), was a second team pick in 2003.
Senior wide receiver Hannibal Thomas (6-3, 205; Inglewood, Calif), who led the Bearcats with 55 catches for 926 yards and nine touchdowns, and sophomore Brent Celek (6-4, 250; Cincinnati), who set a school record for receptions by a tight end with seven, were named to the All-C-USA second team offense. Seniors Jamar Enzor (6-1, 238; Havanna, Fla.), UC's third-leading tackler from his middle linebacker position, cornerback Daven Holly (5-11, 184; Clairton, Pa.), who finished in a tie for fourth place in career interceptions (9), and strong safety Doug Monaghan (6-3, 211; Cincinnati), who led the squad in tackles (76), were second team defense honorees.
Earning third team recognition were senior running back Richard Hall (5-11, 209; Cincinnati), the Bearcats' rushing leader (950 yards); senior offensive tackle Clint Stickdorn (6-6, 327; Baltimore, Ohio), a two year starter; and senior linebacker Tyjuan Hagler (6-2, 230; Kankakee, Ill.), UC's second-leading tackler.
In addition, Cincinnati placed two players on the C-USA All-Freshman team: Doug Jones (6-4, 282; Erlanger, Ky.), UC's third-leading receiver (21 catches, 201 yards, 4 TD) from the tight end/fullback position; and Anthony Hoke (6-1, 235; Warren, Ohio), a backup lineman and special teams player.
Cincinnati compiled a 6-5 record in regular season play and tied for second place in the C-USA race with a 5-3 ledger. The Bearcats meet Marshall in the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl on Dec. 23.
