Baseball To Host First Pitch Dinner

CINCINNATI, Ohio---The University of Cincinnati baseball team will kick off its 2005 season with the inaugural First Pitch Dinner on Friday, Feb. 4. The event will feature special guest speaker Dave Miley, manager of the Cincinnati Reds, and UC coaching legend Glenn Sample as the emcee.
The event will be held at the Alumni Center on UC's campus and will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m. The evening's program is set to begin at 7 p.m. and includes dinner. Following dinner, Miley, along with UC head baseball coach Brian Cleary, will address the crowd. Members of the 2005 Bearcat team will also be on hand.
?We are obviously thrilled to be kicking off the college season with such a great event,? Cleary stated. ?We are excited that Dave Miley will be joining us to bring even more baseball flavor to the event. This will be a great evening for anyone interested in college or professional baseball.?
The First Pitch Dinner is open to the public at a cost of $30 per person, which includes dinner. Reservations for the event must be made as the seating is limited to the first 200 people. To reserve a seat for the dinner, please contact Leslie Ramsey in the UC baseball office at (513) 556-0571. The deadline for making reservations is Jan. 26.
Suggested paid parking for the event will be available in the CBA Garage off of Martin Luther King Drive, just a short walk from the Alumni Center.
The 2005 season will kick off for the Bearcats on Feb. 11 as UC travels to Florida Atlantic for a three-game series. Cincinnati's 2005 home schedule will get underway on March 4 as the Bearcats open a three-game set in the UC Baseball Stadium against Cleveland State.
