Bearcats Win Six Events at Hoosier Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana -- Jo Young won two events and UC dominated in the field events at the Hoosier Classic today at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse. No team scores were kept, but the Bearcats captured six individual titles.
Young nabbed both the shot put (46') and weight throw (53' 7 1/2") crowns, while Jennifer Myers finished third (39' 11 1/2") and second (45' 4 1/2") in those respective events.
Also winning in the field for UC was Jalenna Banks in the triple jump (36' 2 1/4"), Renee Hein in the high jump (5' 7 1/4"), and Tara Meier in the pole vault (11' 5 3/4").
Ruth Limo grabbed the 3,000 meter title in 10:23.28.
Former Bearcat Mary Dunner, now a volunteer assistant coach with UC, won the 200 (24.70) and 400 meter (54.63) sprints while running unattatched.
Cincinnati is next in action on Jan. 22 as they travel back to Bloomington for the Indiana Invitational.
