DAYTON, Ohio -- Ann Degenstein grabbed won three individual titles but the University of Cincinnati swimming and diving teams fell to Wright State. The men dropped a 126-97 decision, while the women fell, 141.5-98.5.
Degenstein won the 1000 freestyle (10:25.54), 100 freestyle (54.48), and the 500 freestyle (5:06.71). Teammate Karen Brasier captured the 200 freestyle (1:55.21) and 100 butterfly (57.57) titles, while Gerdien de Jong earned the 100 backstroke (1:00.34) and Elyse Perez won the 400 individual medley (4:38.24).
On the men's side, David Gustavsson won the 200 freestyle (1:42.01), and Ryan Yearwood captured the 50 freestyle title (21.38). Carlo Piccio won the 400 individual medley in 4:07.33, while Enrique Bayata nabbed the 100 backstroke title (52.68).
The Bearcats will travel to Lexington, Ky. for a dual meet with the Kentucky Wildcats on Feb. 5.
