TOLEDO, Ohio --- The University of Cincinnati women?s tennis team concluded their hectic February schedule on Friday with a 4-3 loss to Bowling Green at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club.
In doubles play, UC earned the point with a hard-fought win by Hannah Hinton and Samantha Liu at the top spot and sisters Jill and Julie Klauck winning at No. 3.
Jill Klauck collected her seventh singles victory of the season winning 6-4, 6-3 over Andrea Volle at the No. 3 singles position. The team?s second win came at the No. 4 spot when senior captain Liu beat the Falcons? Jenna Nussbaum 6-2, 6-4. Senior Julie Klauck fought back after dropping the first set to win the second 6-4, but couldn?t quite capture the win, eventually falling 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. The Bearcats? record drops to 3-9 on the season, while Bowling Green improves to 7-4.
The Bearcats look to reverse their fortunes March 9 at noon at the Five Seasons Country Club when they take on Detroit in their only match of the month.
