WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.---After Cincinnati scored once in the top of the 12th inning, Wake Forest rallied for two game-winning runs in the last of the frame to score a 10-9 win in the conclusion of a suspended game on Saturday at Gene Hooks Stadium.
The Bearcats got a run when Brian Beltz scored on a fielder?s choice off the bat off of Mark Muscenti. But Wake Forest answered with a two-spot in the bottom of the inning on a two-run game winning single by J.B. Tucker.
Sean Souders (1-0) got the win for Wake Forest who improves to 3-6 on the season. Jim Olds (0-1) was saddled with the loss for the Bearcats who are now 3-4 and saw their three-game win streak snapped.
Game two of the weekend series will get underway at approximately 1:20 p.m. this afternoon. Kevin Schrader will start on the mound for the Bearcats, taking on Wake?s Josh Ellis.
