Former Duke assistant Daniel Ensley has joined the UC coaching staff |
CINCINNATI, Ohio ? Former Duke University assistant coach Daniel Ensley has joined the University of Cincinnati men?s soccer coaching staff as the top assistant to head coach Hylton Dayes. Ensley replaces Greg Bowman, former assistant coach, who spent six seasons with UC.
?We're very excited to have Dan join our staff,? said Dayes. ?He is an excellent recruiter and he is a great fit for us as we enter the Big EAST.?
Ensley spent the past two season at Duke, helping the Blue Devils to the NCAA Men?s College Cup in 2004 as well as an 18-6-0 overall record. He handled coaching responsibilities including travel coordination, daily operations, and NCAA compliance, while assisting with team training, recruiting, match analysis, season planning, video editing, and individual instruction.
Ensley previously served as an assistant at James Madison where he guided his alma mater to two NCAA Tournament Births, a Colonial Athletic Association regular season title in 2000, and a CAA tournament title in 2001. Playing under current UC head coach Dayes at JMU, Ensley led the Dukes to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 1994 and 1995. A state and regional standout, he started every match as a central defender while at JMU, earning Defensive MVP accolades in 1995.

Ensley's previous coaching stops include two seasons at Bridgewater College (Va.) and six years of club soccer experience.
