CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- University of Cincinnati junior Anne Stephens was named Conference USA Sixth Player of the Year when the league announced its women?s basketball postseason awards on Wednesday.

Stephens leads the Bearcats in scoring overall (12.1 ppg) and in C-USA games (12.6) and is second in rebounding. She scored in double-figures in 10 of 14 league games, all as a reserve. Stephens ranks third in C-USA in field goal percentage (.519) and sixth in blocks (.92 bpg). She has recorded three double-doubles this season and carded three blocks four times.

Stephens? season highlight came at Memphis, where she scored a career-high 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting with nine rebounds in UC?s win. She currently is second in UC history in career field goal percentage (.523) and ninth in career blocks (45). She is the first Bearcat to earn Sixth Player of the Year honors.

TCU?s Sandora Irvin was named Player of the Year and DePaul?s Doug Bruno and Allie Quigley earned Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively.

The Bearcats open play in the 2005 Pepsi Conference USA Tournament on Thursday, March 2 when they take on host Charlotte at 6 p.m. ET in Halton Arena.
