RIO VERDE, Ariz.---All six players improved on their first round scores as the University of Cincinnati women?s golf team jumped two spots to 16th during the second round of play at the East/West Rio Verde Invitational on Friday.
Freshman Allison Mayborg continues to lead Cincinnati, as she carded a round two score of 77 to move into a tie for 20th position. Senior Allison Couch had her best round of the season, shooting a season-low 77 to move into a tie for 60th.
As a team, UC shot a total of 310, tying for the eighth-lowest round of the day and also matching the Bearcats? second-lowest total of the season. Cincinnati is at 648 for the tournament, 13 strokes back of 15th place Marshall. Michigan continues to lead the team standings with a total of 604.
The third and final round of the tournament is scheduled for Saturday. The event will begin with a shotgun start at 3 p.m. EST. Live stats will be available by logging on to www.golfstat.com.
